Therefore, it has become custom in some clans for the prince of the clan to have concubine or two.
Not just anyone can be a concubine - she must be docile, pretty, and, most importantly, "unspoiled". ■ Jiang Ya-Ping fit this description perfectly, and so, for his fifteenth birthday, she was gifted to ■ Jiang, ---- (Prince of Jiang clan).
There was a problem. Unlike many of the princes in Xing, ■ Jiang, ---- (Prince of Jiang clan) had never been very keen on the idea of having concubines. So he tried to befriend the girl. Unfortunately, for him, when ■ Jiang, Ya-Ping was asked if the prince had bedded her, she quietly replied that he hadn't.
It was then impressed upon the prince that he had to bed her. He was shocked to find, while he was trying to explain this to ■ Jiang, Ya-Ping, she knew all about it, and was more than willing to help him.
That night, the prince did bed her, but still tried to befriend her. She didn't tell anyone about this; so the clan didn't bother obtaining a new concubine for the prince. Now the prince is about to be engaged to ■ Qin, ----- (Second daughter of the chief of the Qin clan). The problem? He's in love with ■ Jiang Ya-Ping.
Does she feel the same? Does the wedding go on? Or does he run away with ■ Jiang, Ya-Ping?
We'll just have to wait and see.
