Mathieu is the only son of the King and Queen of Creta, and, therefore, he has never been in need of anything; he has gotten anything that he could ever want since before he could ask for them. He's used to the comfortable life of a prince, and would be absolutely distraught if he had to live life as a commoner. Unfortunately, Mathieu always getting what he wants has resulting in him becoming rather spoilt. He grew up amongst the sons and daughters of nobles (and attendants, but he would always turn his nose up at their company), and has never been lonely. His friends all admire him (though one must wonder exactly to what extent their loyalty goes, though Mathieu doesn't concern himself with such "petty" affairs). He has reached the point where he will gladly cause a scandal if he's told that he's not allowed to do something, and has slept with countless women and girls (most of them knew what they were getting into, but that doesn't mean that it's approved). He loves women. Anyone from the ages of fifteen to twenty-five he considers fair game. He loves everything about women: their soft curves, their smooth skin, soft sighs and… well, you get the point. He does have some sense of propriety: he's not going to let girls think that they could have a relationship with him; all of them know that it's a fling at best, especially those who haven't been with a man before. Most girls see him as something exciting and enticing. He's very charming and can win a girl over in a few words (usually; there are some women who really can't stand the prince). There is one girl, though, who has always, without fail, adored Mathieu. They met when she was merely a toddler and Mathieu running about the palace with his friends. Her father was the royal physician, and an alkahestrist, who was deeply respected in the medical community. All Mathieu knew, however, was that the man, though an excellent doctor, was a commoner, and, therefore, his daughter was most unfit to be in the company of the prince. His mother, however, had always wanted a little girl to dress up, and took quite a liking to the physician's daughter. The girl's mother had died in childbirth, and so she looked upon the Queen with absolute adoration, second only to Mathieu. The Queen spent years trying to get Mathieu to at least talk to the poor girl, but to no avail. Mathieu just wouldn't put up with treating a commoner as if they were his equal. To this day, the problem persists. Honestly, the only trouble Mathieu has ever had (besides the press and publicity he gets for being a rather well-known playboy) is that his father's health has been steadily decreasing… and Mathieu himself is nowhere near ready to take the crown - he's perfectly willing to admit that.
