■ Prince Mathieu of Creta » current age: 20

■ Moreau, Marie Simone » current age: 17

■ Prince Mathieu of Creta has always been reckless. He's a horrible flirt, and tends to chase skirts more than he does prepare to take the crown. His parents, ■ King ------ and ■ Queen -----, don't really approve of this behaviour (he is, after all, their only living child), but they put up with it, though ■ Queen ----- often chides her son and tells him to calm down and marry a nice girl.

■ Moreau, Marie Simone is the orphaned daughter of a pair of very famous doctors. Her father was the personal doctor (and alkahestrist) of ■ King ------, and, when he died, ■ Moreau, Marie Simone was left in the care of a■ Queen ----- and ■ King ------. For her entire life, she has been in love with the handsome ■ Prince Mathieu. Unfortunately, he's always been too busy chasing skirts to notice the daughter of a commoner.

Gradually, ■ King ------ falls very ill, and no doctor has been able to cure him. However, ■ Moreau, Marie Simone believes that, with some notes her father left her, she can. ■ King ------ warns her that if she fails, and if any harm befalls him because of it, she will be exiled or killed. ■ Moreau, Marie Simone agrees, but offers her own option: if she succeeds, she gets to marry the man of her choosing. ■ King ------ readily agrees, and, to the surprise of many, ■ Moreau, Marie Simone's cure worked. The king is suddenly incredibly well, thanks to what is really alkahestry. ■ Moreau, Marie Simone is allowed her choice of husband, and she chooses ■ Prince Mathieu.

Disgusted, but obedient to the King's wishes, ■ Prince Mathieu leaves right after the wedding ceremony to fight for Aerugo in one of their current wars, saying that he'll only return when ■ Moreau, Marie Simone is pregnant with his child, and has his family ring upon her finger. ■ Moreau, Marie Simone is distraught, and decides to go to Aerugo to find him.

Does she ever succeed in winning him over? Will he survive the war?
We'll just have to wait to find out!
