--Resombool. Quiet. Quaint. Cute... 'Nice vacation place...' thought Shan, looking around with an expression that to anyone else would have looked like judgment... but it was really admiration, believe it or not. While she never smiled much, it didn't mean she was never happy. On the contrary, she was generally content. She just didn't have the happiest face in the world.
For her third day in the Quiet Town, as she liked to call it, she decided she would be better off just walking around. Here, she didn't feel the need to hide. Why would anyone go looking for her here? So she walked the dirt roads, admiring the view. As far as she'd gotten, since it was late afternoon at this point, one would think she was lost at this point. But Shan never got lost. Drop her in the middle of the desert and she could find her way home. 'If I had a home...' she thought with a frown. But thoughts like that never lasted long, especially when she looked up at the clear blue sky and puffy clouds. It was so picturesque, this area... nothing like Xing.
She glanced over at a building, a little house with a sign in the front of it. An automail place by the looks of it. Automail... She'd heard a thing or two about automail. Part of her was curious, wanting to go inside. The other part scolded herself for being nosy and wanted to move forward. This resulted in her standing in front of the shop longer than a passerby should, staring rather awkwardly as her mind fought to come to a final conclusion.

Alphonse was tired. He supposed that it was only natural; he and Ed had stayed up all night planning (mostly so there was less of a chance of Winry overhearing the brothers' plans to leave Risembool for a while), and Alphonse's body still needed more sleep than a normal person. He still needed more food, too, but he wasn't complaining about that in the least. As it was, he had gone to bed around four in the morning, woke up around eight for breakfast, and had gone back to bed "to lay down".
He woke up a few hours later, still a bit tired, but determined not to go back to sleep just yet. Winry had smiled at him and offered to make him some lunch (to which Alphonse agreed on the condition that he could help her make it). It seemed to him like she was just chalking it up to the fact that he needed more sleep than anyone else in the house. After lunch, Winry asked him if he could go into town and get some apples, to which Alphonse readily agreed.
He walked out the door to find a black-haired girl (she looked Xingese, Alphonse thought) staring at the house. "Hello!" he greeted. "Can I help you with anything?" She looked like she had all four limbs, so perhaps she was merely curious… or she could be looking for automail for someone close to her. Whatever it was, Alphonse was sure that Winry wouldn't mind him trying to help the girl out (especially if she might be a new customer).
