HISTORY. Roy was orphaned at a young age and adopted by a man named Chris mustang.In his late teens he discovered affinity for alchemy and began training under alchemist Berthold Hawkeye. When faced with the border wars he left his teachings and enrolled in the military academy.While enrolled at the school he met maes hughes who he shared many of his ideas and dreams with. At the age of twenty he returned to his teach to gain higher learning and to convince him to share his research with the military. Sadly,his teacher refused and died in roys arms of an illness. His teacher left his notes in roys hands in exchange for looking after risa hawkeye.At his teachers funeral he reveled his dreams to risa and returned she show him the code tattoo on her back that held the secret to flame alchemy. Roy at first refuse but , agree when his told the Ishvalans (referring to the souls in the Philosopher's Stone) can work together. Marcoh says he'll hand the stone over on the condition that Roy changes the Ishval policy, allows the Ishvalans to return to their homeland, and allow him (Marcoh) to live in Ishval as a doctor. Roy also suggest they use the stone cure jean havok's legs before him. About years later Roy is promoted to Brigadier General and is working hard to make the region of Ishval into trading post for Amestries and xing and rebuilt Ishval.
