In general, he is a fair, patient man (which he needs to be, considering the nation that he rules and his son). He is an only son, however, he does have a sister and two nephews. He loves his son, and is constantly trying to condition him to become king, and, as such, is trying to find a nice lady or some other noblewoman for Mathieu to settle down with. His health is poor; it has been since he was a child. Therefore, it is very important to him that Mathieu be prepared to take the throne once he dies. |

| [atrb=border,0,true] The Queen of Creta is a very kind, gentle person. She does not discriminate, and tries to mediate between opposing duchies and counties. She adores her son, but she, like her husband, wants him to grow up. She has also taken under her wing the daughter of her husband's late physician, Miss Moreau. It is her (secret, admittedly) hope that Mathieu marries Miss Moreau, as she believes that the two are perfectly compatible on a personal level, even though Moreau is a commoner. She herself is the daughter of some duke or count (it really doesn't matter which), and probably has a few siblings somewhere in Creta. |
