"Thank you again sir!" she called out, waving merrily as the man and his cart continued down the road, a bright smile painted on her face. Slowly when she made sure the man and his cart had left the area, she turned back to the house, once again picking up the heavy case and lugging it up the path and up the steps to the front door. There was a loud thud as it was dropped on the front step, the young woman's hand then coming to her pockets and fishing around for her keys, finding the silver objects and placing them in the lock and opening the door, balancing the case in her hands and propping the door open with her foot.
"Edward? Alphonse?" she called out, listening as the sound just rebounded on the walls of the empty house, a sad smile on her face when no one answered. "I guess they had things to do" she mumbled. It wasn't their fault ... she should have rung to say she was coming back from Rush Valley for a while. Slowly she moved the suitcase away from the door, not bothering to lock it as she went into the kitchen. After all ... who was going to try and rob them?
Her strides took her into the kitchen, fancying a drink she decided to make a pot of tea, filling it with enough water for three. After all ... who knew when those boys were going to be back? And it would be nice to have something ready for them when they did.

[atrb=border,0,true] Alphonse loved being back in Risembool. Sure, it was a bit strange to go from wandering around the country in a suit of armour, only to save the country later, to... well, taking a walk in the countryside in his entirely human - if not still a bit skinny and weak - body, but he loved every minute of it.
He supposed that someone who didn't know his story (and not very many knew the full extent), it might seem odd to see him walking around in the grass, barefoot, thoroughly enjoying just feeling. He wondered briefly if he'd ever get over how wonderful it was to physically feel things and eat and sleep.
As it was, it was nearing lunchtime, and that would mean going home to make some lunch - his appetite was always immense come mealtimes. Ed had gone into town to buy something or other for the house, so Alphonse headed home on his own.
He was a bit shocked to find the door unlocked, but figured that Granny or even Ed must have beaten him home - that is, until he walked into the kitchen. "Winry!" he exclaimed. "When did you get back?" He wasted no time in enveloping his friend in a hug, temporarily forgetting about lunch.

It was the soft click of the door that caused her to react, the cup being placed on the table and her long blonde hair swinging round with her movement as she turned to face the blonde teen in the doorway. "Welcome home Al" she muttered, her soft voice still ringing clear even if it was quiet. It was great to see him again ... she was still getting used to not seeing the suit of armour infront of her, instead of the teen that was infront of her. Still, Alphonse's original body coming back to him was something she could say she was genuinely glad for, she was just sad that she missed it.
The hug was gladly embraced as she held the younger close to her, giggling slightly at the shock in his voice. "A few hours ago" she replied, a bright smile appearing on her face "Besides ... I have to check up on you two every once in a while" she joked. They already got into trouble most of the time, she just liked to be there. Spending time with them was dearly important to her and if she could spend more time here with them she would, but she couldn't just quit her job, no matter how tempting seeing them was.
"So how have you two been?" she asked, wondering in the back of her mind where the elder brother was. She'd ask in a moment, she wanted to hear a bit more about how Alphonse was before rushing in and asking about Edward.

[atrb=border,0,true] Alphonse grinned. "You should have called, Ed and I both would have stayed home." There was no doubt in his mind that Ed would be shocked by Winry's unannounced return. Maybe this could be a chance to convince the two of them to stop being so hard headed and just admit their feelings for each other. "I may not the one that needs help staying out of trouble," Al half-joked. There really wasn't much trouble to get in around Risembool, but it wasn't completely impossible, especially for Ed.
"I've been fine, but Ed's been getting a bit restless." He wasn't going to mention that he was beginning to get a bit restless himself. Risembool was nice and relaxing, but there wasn't all that much to do. It was just better to wait until his and Ed's plans were set in stone before telling Winry what they were planning. "Don't worry," he added, "I've been getting enough sleep and enough food." He really couldn't blame everyone for being worried about him, but he was really doing fine now.
"Ed should be home soon, by the way." He couldn't wait to see his brother's face when he saw Winry. Now to take advantage of this opportunity and come up with a plan to get them to admit their feelings for each other.

"Actually ... Ed was the one who called me. Something about a leg ... it was like there was some interference, so I couldn't hear him clearly?" she replied, almost questioning Al if there was a problem with the line or if there was something wrong with Edward. If she could assume by what she heard on the phone she would say the former alchemist was sick or something. That had made her worry all the more, that he could be sick. She knew Alphonse would look after him if he was but ... it was just because it was Edward. Something just made her worry more when it was him ...
"Well that's Edward for you ... he can't sit still for more then two minutes" she chuckled, knowing how much Edward hated to stay in one place for too long. "So will you two be going again soon?" she asked, hoping the answer would be a no, and that they would wait a while ... just so she could spend a little time with them.
She nodded in response about his eating, wondering if she should make a pie later ... just as a welcome home present. Sure she sent them different treats every so often, but there was nothing like getting something homemade and fresh out of the oven. Plus ... she hadn't made a pie in a while and it would be good just to do something! Something that could make all three of them happy.
There was a small nod of her head "Good ... it would be nice to see him again. Honestly ... it's just typical Edward not to be here after he's summoned me from across the country!" she complained, however the good nature of her jibe was made clear in her voice, turning round quickly as the whistling of the kettle made itself remembered. "Would you like some tea Al?" she asked, a bright smile on her face as she turned round to face the younger brother once more. After all ... tea and catching up went hand in hand, did they not?

[atrb=border,0,true] Alphonse furrowed his brows. "He was?" There wasn't any problem with Ed's leg, at least not that Al had seen... "It might be something small; he hasn't demolished it." Alphonse sighed. "Honestly, I wouldn't put it past him to pretend like nothing's wrong in front of me, even though I can handle myself." Al did notice, however, how concerned Winry seemed to be. Maybe this would be easier than he'd thought. ...Then again, it was Ed and Winry; nothing was ever easy with those two.
Al smiled. "Yeah. I'm actually pretty amazed that he's stayed here this long." That was probably because Al wanted to stay and Ed still wasn't convinced that his brother could handle himself. Upon hearing Winry's question, however, Alphonse paused. "We're not leaving just yet," he said, hoping that that would suffice. They were planning to leave, of course, but not within the next few days or anything...
It... really was typical of Ed. "He'll be back soon, don't worry." In the meantime, perhaps Al could get to work on executing his plan. It was bound to work... otherwise, he'd never hear the end of it. Upon hearing Winry's invitation, Alphonse smiled. "Sure." He went into the kitchen and got out some teacups, sugar, and milk for their tea. He had missed Winry quite a bit, and it would be nice to catch up with her.
