HISTORY. Marie Simone Moreau is the daughter of Sheng Yao, a skilled Xingese alkahestrist, and his beautiful Cretan wife, Marie Claudette. Sheng and his wife lived in the Cretan palace, as Sheng served as the king’s personal physician. Not long after the couple came to stay in the palace, Claudette became pregnant with her first, and what would be her only, child. Despite all of his knowledge in medical alchemy, Sheng was unable to save the life his wife lost during childbirth. The little girl Claudette produced was named Simone, just as his wife had wanted. Sheng continued to live and serve in the Cretan palace while raising his little girl. Simone had a relatively comfortable life living in the palace. She spent most of her days traipsing around the areas that were open to her, especially the gardens, the library, and her father’s study. Simone became close to the royal family; the queen had taken quite a liking to the little girl who had no mother, thinking of her as the daughter she had always wanted. The prince, Mathieu, had paid Simone no mind ever since the day of her birth – she was a commoner, after all, no matter how much time she spent with his mother. Simone, on the other hand, couldn’t get the boy out of her head. She became infatuated with him from the moment she laid her eyes on him and followed him nearly everywhere he went despite the fact that he constantly picked on her. To this day, Simone vies for Mathieu’s affection (she even took her mother’s maiden name to sound more Cretan). When Simone was ten, her father became extremely ill with an unknown disease. For the last years of his life, Sheng continued to study alkahestry and cures for his illness and tried several times to heal himself, but to no avail. Sheng died when Simone was fourteen. Now orphaned, Simone changed from the once outgoing and bright child she had been. She became very withdrawn and started spending a lot of time locked up in her father’s study, reading and rereading the encoded notes of alkahestry he had left behind. Just three years after her father’s death, the king became ill with what seemed to be the same disease that Sheng died of. Simone decided to take it upon herself to take care of the family she loved and one day hoped to be a part of. She approached the king with a proposition – if she could cure him, she would get to marry the man of her choice (which would of course be Mathieu); if she could not, she would be executed. Since the deal, Simone has been working day and night to perfect her father’s work. FACE CLAIM. Mayuri Shirasagi of Flyable Heart ROLEPLAY SAMPLE. Darkness had enveloped them. She widened her eyes, though she could not see his face. The only light was the faint blush of the glow in the dark stars that she had stuck to her ceiling three years ago. She needed to replace them, she thought. They were growing dimmer with each passing night. All was quiet. The world around them seemed to have died out. The walls did not creak. The wind did not knock at their window. The streets did not have a single traveler. But she did not feel alone. She could hear his breathing; she could feel his steady heart beat. And on that night, it was all she could have ever asked for. They were sunk deep within their blankets, lying face to face, their limbs tangled together, their bodies pressed as close as they would allow. She couldn’t keep her hands off of him– tracing her fingers along his jaw line, his lips, his hands, and his arms – trying to memorize his every feature before they would have to part once again. She felt safe and vulnerable all at the same time. It was such an interesting feeling to have, she mused, to love and trust someone so completely that you fear letting him know your deepest thoughts, lest he realize that you aren’t the person he thought you to be. But he never judged her, and she never him. They valued the soul of the other too much. They wanted to listen. They yearned to hear their deepest thoughts, to gain even just the slightest bit of insight to the mind that intrigued them so. MY NAME IS TORI AND I'VE BEEN BREATHING AIR FOR NINETEEN YEARS.
